MONSTER GUARD: UI/UX Design
In the final version of the game, the 2D characters (shown below) were replaced by the 3D characters (shown above) as was originally intended. The tactile UI button shapes seen in the mock-ups changed to the flatter, rounder shapes shown in the final versions above so that they did not visually compete with the 3D characters.
A lot of the final UI was derived from the round white shape I created for this map above (final screenshot). I had to create up to 50 different iterations of icons within a two day time crunch.
I also collaborated with the Lead Producer and Programmer in understanding where art elements went and how the player would interact with them. Together, we designed game content for early levels.
